The Research Library

Every source, in the open.

Each study, trial, review and guideline cited by a published piece is filed here, grouped by the kind of evidence it is, with the pieces that rely on it.

Research sources are retrieved from Europe PMC and OpenAlex, and guidance from named institutions, before a word is written. Titles link to the original, by DOI where one exists.

Cited in our reporting

Nothing cited yet

This shelf fills with the first published story.

The library lists only sources cited by published pieces. Nothing here is placeholder: when an entry appears, it is a real paper that a real article relies on.

  • Study typeMeta-analysis, systematic review, randomised trial, observational study, review or institution.
  • IdentifiersA DOI or PubMed ID wherever one exists, linked to the original.
  • Cited inEvery published piece that relies on it, so you can check the claim in context.

Institutions we draw on

For official guidance and figures, the research desk keeps a shelf of pages from public bodies and regulators. These are what a piece cites when the question is “what is the advice?” rather than “what did the study find?”. A page listed here is available to the desk; it appears in a piece’s references only when it is cited.

The Unleashed app banks

Unleashed OS, our iPhone app, includes curated “banks”: short, practical entries you can act on. A piece may feature one, labelled “from the Unleashed Moves Bank” (or Environment, or Awareness), when it fits the topic.

Bank entries are not research evidence. Each one is attributed to the person or organisation it was curated from, and none of them is ever used as a citation for a factual claim. Claims are only ever supported by the sources above.
